Basic Nitrox Dive Training

PADI Enriched Air

Nitrox is any combination of Oxygen and Nitrogen as an underwater breathing gas. “Enriched Air Nitrox” (EANx) is a gas containing a higher percentage of Oxygen than that found in normal air. Lowering the percentage of nitrogen in a breathing gas can increase potential bottom time and/or increase safety limits when compared to air diving.

This is the entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air Nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. It can be taken as a one day "academics only" course or together with optional two dives. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using Nitrox mixes from twenty two (22) to forty (40) percent oxygen content.
