Decompression Procedures Training
PSA Decompression Procedures Course
Decompression Procedures - we have already mentioned that nitrox diving is for everybody but what about deep diving? First you must set a limit for what is deep, that depends on the people diving.
For the purpose of this course it is 130 feet. Although you may have dove to these depths before there is still plenty to learn here. We all know that square profile dives give you very little time at these depths.
Also, should you be diving to these depths on a single tank. How to extend your times safely and aspects to the dive that should be considered are only some of the areas covered.
This course is still classed under the recreational banner but for those of you who are wanting more knowledge and experience to further your current diving abilities, this course will make you think once again.
It will also give you an insight into what is referred to as Technical Diving.
Prerequisites
18 years of age with an Advanced Open Water Diver cerification from a recognized training agency, as well as a Nitrox diver certification from a recognized training agency. Proof of a minimum of 20 logged dives.
Course Description
The course is outlined as a two day program with about 8 hours of classroom and dive planning. Before the end of this course a final exam will be given.
Four dives will be conducted to a maximum depth of 130 feet/40 meter while breathing air and using a Nitrox mix up to 40% for decompression. During the course we will practice different decompression techniques for different diving environments and dive situations.
Double tanks and technical dive gear can be used for students who want to continue with technical diving and we recommend this. At least one shallow water practice session will be conducted.
Maximum course size - Four students per instructor.
After completion and certication of this course divers will be issued a certification card and wall certificate as well as being qualified to plan and safely execute dives to the limit of training while using different equipment configurations, air, and nitrox.
